Agavesse
Jumpstart Ecosystem Restoration via Agave
Using Agave as part of an effective carbon absorbing succession plan to increase survivability rates
(and biodiversity) of reforestation plans in semi desert areas of the world. Regenerate soils, water,
and biodiversity through agave reforestation while growing a high value crop with multiple commercial uses.

Overview
The Agavesse System (the “System”) is a flexible, revolutionary, agave-based program for commercially accretive ecosystem restoration in semi-arid regions. The System, which has been developed by Sophia Trapp of Cañada de la Virgen S.P.R. de R.L. (“CDLV” or the “Cañada”) and leading research institutes, utilizes indigenous plants and proven techniques in order to restore biodiversity, renew soil health and replenish water sources. It also builds upon existing economic activities and creates multiple, long-term revenue streams.
Benefits
The Agavesse System provides multiple environmental benefits, including restoration of degraded land and topsoil, halting of desertification, replenishment of water tables and recreation healthy, viable and biodiverse ecosystems. In terms of economic benefits, the System creates multiple, regenerative revenue streams including the capture and permanent storage of significant amounts of plant and soil-based carbon that can be registered and sold. Further, the accretive value of the System is increased through its deployment in conjunction with large-scale agave cultivation or livestock operations as part of a virtuous restoration cycle.
Methodology
Survivability & Carbon Capture
By using a combination of agave, native species, soil inoculants, beneficial fungi, and tested planting techniques and methods, the Agavesse System can ensure a 95% survival rate and maximum steady state carbon sequestration.
